This will be my first work as a solo artist and so is a step up in the scale and ambition of my practice. It’s an opportunity to explore new aspects of contemporary choreography and so will develop my technical skills through working at the Academy and with Lulu Parker Dance. This project raises our programming ambition. We will develop the quality of our programme through relationships with companies as well as through the partners for this project. Including a go-and-see budget and capacity for Ellie to lead on programming, means that by the end of this project we will have shaped and delivered a full season and set up relationships for the future programme. This will include international programming for the first time (GRC France), larger scale work brokered through a national network (Rural Touring Classical) and longer term relationships with artists as commissioning partners (Shape Nation). The shift to including outreach activity with the programme allows us to increase the quality of engagement and the benefits the local community gets from engaging with nationally significant artists.
