I am taking steps to understand how my work and the process of making it are received through: 1. Creative Team feedback 2. Audience Feedback 3. Press Reviews 4. Industry Peers
1. The creative team will feed back on the quality of the work throughout as it is a collaborative, devised process but we will also benefit from Solomon joining us as an outside eye in the final rehearsal weeks
2. Audience members can give feedback through the post show discussion, via FOH staff and in a survey on programmes and sent out to bookers. This will focus on how the audience received the themes of the show and whether the new format worked as intended
3. We will work to secure press reviews through working with a PR company who have a strong track record in this type of work. This will be both industry press and relevant publications e.g. environmental press
4. The 3 venue partners will be invited to a sharing of work in progress, along with potential future commissioners and programmers. This feedback will inform how we develop the show in the second rehearsal phase and help us decide if the target age range for the audience is right.
This project is created with and for the local community and so their feedback and involvement at all stages of the project is vital. We constantly talk to people in the community at the school gate or at the local shops etc to find out what they want. We also use creative methods to get feedback and use that to plan the next stage of the project together. In the pilot this included a workshop where we had art materials and created a mural on paper together of the project so far and what they wanted the next stages to be. We will use this approach again and also our “chips and chat” sessions throughout this project to gain feedback.
