Our emerging producers programme will include industry mentors and paid placements to give people an opportunity to start a career in the creative industries. Through our network of project partners we will signpost participants to future opportunities, with each partner offering up to three assistant producer or event producer roles in the 6 months following the programme itself. My project contributes to this outcome because my work includes new types of creative practice and new ways of reaching audiences. In this project I will be testing a “show in residence” model. Instead of touring to 10 venues, my show will be “in residence” in 4 locations for a longer period of time, in non-arts spaces. The show will become part installation, part performance, part community centre and part project HQ. The talks and wraparound events (see activity plan) are all designed to engage audiences in different ways and break down barriers to attending a performance.
