Through our programme of intergenerational movement sessions we will provide opportunities for people to meet others from different walks of life. This will encourage participants to build social connections in their local community and reduce loneliness, particularly for the older residents taking part. We will work with children 8-11 years in 3 schools (2 in a Levelling Up for Culture Place). They will create alongside the professional team and develop their puppetry skills before performing in the final production. We will also reach families from a wide range of backgrounds in our pre-show and taster workshops by working with Hampton Arts Centre who have been running drop in sessions over the last year in partnership with Hampton Welcomes Refugees and have strong links with local schools and clubs. We want to support teachers and improve teaching for creativity in schools as well as skilling up local youth group leaders.
