Understanding data is a powerful tool for taking action and our project planning has been informed by data from Julie’s Bicycle (Manchester’s Zero Carbon Culture Guide) and Music Declares Emergency (MDE). The project team are aware of the severity of the climate crisis and the need to act now, and why offsetting alone is not effective, informed by data in the MDE Climate Pack. Last year one of our festival partners did an audience survey which included how people got to our event. 85% of people travelled by car. We have used this data to plan our project to try and reduce this.
