This project is for young people in the borough. Over the past year they have been isolated from their friends and family. Lots of them have found accessing online lessons or other things where they could see friends is difficult because of digital poverty. We know that while some young people have been isolated, others have broken social distancing rules which has caused concern for residents and resulted in some antisocial behaviour. The audience for this production will be a combination of regular theatre audiences of each venue, cabaret and alternative comedy fans and new audiences for the venues. The new audiences we will engage through outreach and marketing activity (see ‘reaching beneficiaries’ below for more details). These will include ‘Experience Seekers’ who might not normally attend a more traditional venue but will respond to the social and digital aspects of the production and also the adults of the ‘Frontline Families’ segment who will respond to the cinematic and pop culture references. We will engage people as visitors to the exhibition, workshop participants and interviewees for the short films. We particularly want to engage with our local community in the district of Markfield and the surrounding area. The project will attract people who know our work from previous exhibitions, but we are keen to engage with new audiences, especially those who don’t normally go to see exhibitions at the gallery, including families, older people, and those from very rural or deprived areas.
